QuietShield helps reduce unwanted advertising, tracking, risky domains, and selected app connections on Android phones and tablets. It uses Android's local VPN capability as an on-device filtering layer.
Core protection features
QuietShield focuses on practical protection and user control rather than pretending to be a complete replacement for safe browsing, operating-system updates, or account security.
Risky-domain protection
Helps prevent connections to known malicious, suspicious, or unwanted domains based on the active protection rules.
Custom website rules
Users can add supported websites to personal allowlists or blocklists and adjust protection behavior when needed.
App connection controls
Supported app rules can limit or allow network access according to the selected configuration and device capabilities.
Private Browser
An optional browser provides privacy controls, local filtering, tab management, media support, and site-specific controls.
Local protection statistics
Users can review supported protection activity and local statistics directly in the app.
Local VPN-based filtering
QuietShield creates a VPN interface on the Android device after the user approves the VPN connection. Supported network requests are evaluated against protection rules on the device.
QuietShield is not a general remote VPN service and does not provide country selection for changing the apparent network location.
Protection remains visible
Android displays the VPN status while QuietShield protection is active. Users can stop protection, change supported rules, or uninstall the app through normal Android controls.
Android normally allows only one active VPN service at a time, so QuietShield may not operate at the same time as another VPN-based application.
Distribution and updates
QuietShield uses clearly separated release channels.
Google Play edition
The Google Play edition receives application updates through Google Play and follows the distribution requirements of that channel.
Direct edition
A separately distributed direct edition may use the official QuietShield Releases repository for signed APK files, update metadata, checksums, and public release notes.
